In 2012, the Schiffman family generously donated ten acres on West Road between the Shepard farm and the Wilcox farm, almost adjacent to Alford Springs. Since then we have worked with board member and local forester Peter Tucker to develop a forestry stewardship plan for the land. Our regional office of the Natural Resources Conservation Service has agreed to cost share in a three-year program with the Alford Land Trust for land management practices, particularly invasive species controls. We completed a loop trail around the property in 2018, including a boardwalk through the wetlands. Below are links to the Schiffman Woods Project documents.
